The 10-member Ethics Committee has, reportedly, held Sharma guilty of being habitual offender. The committee had recommended Sharma's expulsion from the Assembly to the Speaker.

Media reports quoted the BJP MLA from Vishwas Nagar, in Nov last year, as saying, "Ye (Alka Lamba) toh Raat Bhar ghumne wali", a statement raised to question one's character.
