BJP appoints Dushyant Gautam as national VP; Sunil Deodhar as national secretary and AP co-in charge
New Delhi, July 30: Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah has appointed in-charge of Tripura BJP and national executive member of the party Sunil Deodhar as the national secretary. Former scheduled caste (SC) morcha convenor Dushyant Kumar Gautam has been appointed as the national vice president of the party.
Long deliberations were held before the appointment of some new office bearers in the national BJP, however, some more are expected.
The BJP informed that Dushyant Kumar Gautam will be the national vice president, Sunil Deodhar will now be national secretary and Y Satya Kumat will also hold the same responsibility of National secretary. Member of Parliament V Muralidharan has been appointed as the in-charge of the Andhra Pradesh and Sunil Deodhar as his deputy. P S Sridharan Pillai has been named as President of the Kerala BJP.
With the new appointment, Sunil Deodhar has been entrusted some important and additional responsibilities as the responsibility of Andhra Pradesh as c0-in charge and national secretary of the party along with Tripura in charge of the party. His efforts turned the tide in favour of the BJP in Tripura as the BJP has been able to form the government in the state from the naught.
Sources said that Andhra Pradesh is a difficult state with an estranged ally Telugu Desam Party. However, the organisational roots are getting better in the state. Deodhar has the credit of managing 2014 election of PM Modi in Varanasi. He is known for his organisational skills. Dushyant Gautam is a known Dalit leader.
