New Delhi, August 28: A group of 50 women motorbike riders from Gujarat, the 'Biking Queens' as they are called, on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
The group says they have driven over 10,000 km, covering 13 States/UTs, and interacted with people on social themes, such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao; and Swachh Bharat. On 15th August, 2017, they unfurled the tricolour at Khardungla, in Ladakh.
After meeting the bikers, PM Modi appreciated their efforts and wished them the best for their future endeavours.
Who are 'Biking Queens'
They are the "Biking Queens" from Surat, Gujarat, who love their 'mean machines' to the hilt. It is their love for bikes coupled with their zeal to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pet campaign-- Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (Save girl child, educate girl child)--which encouraged these women to take a pan-India journey.
As a part of their Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao awareness campaign, "Biking Queens" have already visited various states, including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, to name a few places.
