Bengaluru policeman arrested for running sex racket
The Bengaluru police who bust a prostitution racket last week arrested one of their own for running it. Karibasappa, a constable with the crime wing branch of Parappana Agrahara was arrested on charges of soliciting customers online and encouraging a tech-savvy prostitution racket.
The head constable is accused of pocketing money from two other middlemen whose identities have been withheld. The cop allegedly set up the prostitution racket where customers would be solicited online and transactions happened through digital payments. The police are currently in the process of dismissing the head constable who is currently remanded to judicial custody.
The police found the link to Karibasappa after raids on a prostitution den in Mico Layout police station limits. Three women were rescued from an independent house where the police also found card swiping machines and huge sums of cash. Karibasappa who was a constable with the Parappana Agrahara police station is currently cooling his heels in the same jail.
