Bengaluru bandh on February 4, if PM does not intervene in Mahadayi row

He said that if the BJP in Karnataka fail to get an assurance from PM Narendra Modi on resolving the issue, then there would be a bandh on February 4.

He further said that he would expect an assurance to this effect from the state BJP by February 3. If there is no assurance then a bandh is certain, he also said.

Modi will be in Bengaluru on February 4 to address a rally. He would be taking part in the valedictory of the BJP's Parivartana Yatra at the Palace Grounds.

The Kannada Okkuta had observed Karnataka bandh on January 25.

BJP leader R Ashoka accused the ruling Congress of indirectly supporting Bengaluru bandh in order to prevent people from attending Modi rally.
