The baby boy was born to Syed Habeeb and Farida. The woman was admitted to Bowring Hospital where she delivered the boy on Oct 2.

It has been reported that the baby was kept in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). However, he was taken to his mother every two hours for breast feeding.

A burqa-clad woman on Sunday came to meet Farida when she was taking care of her child. The unidentified woman told Farida that she had come to meet her relative who was undergoing operation.

Informing about the incident, a police official later was quoted as saying, "The woman picked the baby and was pampering her. Meanwhile, Farida requested her to take care of the baby and left to attend nature's call."

"When she returned after a few minutes, she could not find both her baby and the woman. After a frantic search for the baby, she informed the hospital staff and relatives. Later, the police were alerted about the incident," the official added.

The official also said, "The movement of the woman has been recorded in the CCTV cameras installed in the hospital premises. It appears like she was wearing to burkha to conceal her identity. However, we could see her face in the footage and efforts are on to trace her."
