Kolkata: Actress watched KKR vs MI IPL match at Eden Garden, then committed suicide
Kolkata, April 10: A day after her death, police sources informed that Disha Ganguly had watched Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) IPL match at Eden in Kolkata on Wednesday, April 8 and then committed suicide.
Disha, who was a famous actress in Tollywood and Bengali television industry, along with her boyfriend Vivan had watched the first IPL 8 match at the stadium. [Kolkata: Famous Bengali actress commits suicide]
Later the couple went to Vivan's house for dinner where Disha had met Vivan's mother for the first time. Later he had dropped her at her house where she used to stay along.
Hours after when Vivan tried to call and contact Disha, she did not respond to his calls or messages. He then rushed to her house and found her body hanging from the ceiling fan.
The 23-year-old actress was declared brought dead at hospital. After receiving postmortem report, police confirmed that she committed suicide.
Meanwhile, Disha's friend, who too tried to commit suicide on the same day, has been admitted to hospital.
According to sources, the friend, who too belongs from the same industry, had jumped before a train at Howrah station. However, passengers rescued and saved her life.
While some media reports have indicated that Disha might have killed self following the tension between the two girls, other reports claimed that she was upset following her meeting with Vivan's mother.
