Bengal: NIA seizes fake currency worth Rs 1.92 lakh
New Delhi, Aug 2: The National Investigation Agency has seized fake currency worth Rs 1.92 lakh from West Bengal. A team of the NIA seized the currency from one Abdul Rahim, near the hotel Pabitra Farakka, District Murshidabad, West Bengal.
Acting on a credible information, NIA team had laid a trap in the periphery of the Hotel Pabitra, Farakka. At about 1800 hrs, the accused Abdul Rahim was intercepted by the NIA team at footpath near to the Hotel Pabitra.
He was frisked by the officials of the NIA and found in possession of the fake Indian currency notes having denomination of Rs. 2,000.
It is suspected that the fake notes were printed and smuggled from across the border.
