Andhra Pradesh bandh today: What will remain closed, What will remain open?
Slamming the Modi government for neglecting Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget, the Left parties have called for State bandh on today to protest the injustice done to the state.
Here is a list of services that are likely to be hit or operate in the state:
Bus services:
Bus services are not going to be interrupted. According to APSRTC Dy Traffic Chief Manager Nagendra Babu, they will not be participating in the bandh. However, earlier in the day, more than 1300 APS RTC buses stopped in Visakhapatnam
Auto-rickshaws:
Auto-rickshaws services are expected to remain hit for today. Some of them, however, said that they would remain off roads for a few hours.
Colleges:
Student unions such as the Students Federation of India, All India Students Federation have said that they will boycott classes.
Hospitals:
Hospitals will not be closed.
They had demanded that the Centre fulfill the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, by making adequate allocations in the budget for the new capital Amaravati, metro rail projects in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, new railway zone for Visakhapatnam and the Polavaram irrigation project.
