New Delhi, Oct 18 What cinema has got to do with politics? Probably a lot, when it comes to the current Indo-Pak political situation.

After the Uri terror attack, where Pakistan-sponsored terrorists killed 19 Indian jawans last month, the neighbouring countries are experiencing severe diplomatic tensions. The "strain" in relationship has extended to the cultural and cricketing ties between both the countries.

According to the recent decision of the Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI), no films with Pakistani actors will be screened in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and Karnataka in the aftermath of Uri attack.

The diktat of COEAI has put a question mark on the release of Karan Johar's upcoming film, Ae Dil Hain Mushkil. The film features Pakistani heart-throb, Fawad Khan.

The "ban" on the film has divided Bollywood into two camps-one supporting COEAI's verdict and the other opposing it.

On Tuesday, #KeepCinemaOutOfPolitics, was trending on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
