Atempt to woo Delhi voters? Centre revises payscales of govt employees
New Delhi, Jan 12: At a time when the Delhi elections are just a month away, the Narendra Modi government has approved a proposal of Delhi Government to revise the pay scales of Delhi Administration Subordinate Service (DASS).
"Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the proposal of Delhi Government to revise the pay scales of Delhi Administration Subordinate Service (DASS). Both the DASS and Steno cadre will be benefited by this decision," Principal Secretary (Services, Delhi government) Anindo Majumdar said today.
"Central government has also approved the grant of Non-Functional Scale of Rs. 8000-13500 to DASS Grade-I/Senior PA notionally from January 1, 1996 and actually from December 1, 2006," he said.
After the announcement was made, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party slammed BJP for announcing this at a time when the Delhi elections are so near and called it a poll sop.
As per ANI report, "BJP said that the proposal was accepted in order to fulfill the promises BJP did before coming to power.
Satish Upadhyay also said that this has nothing to do with the Delhi assembly polls and that opposition is free to draw speculations.
Congress leader JP Agarwal alleged that the passing of the proposal comes at the time when Election Commission is to announce the dates for the Delhi polls.
AAP also criticized the BJP for the same and said that this won't affect the votes."
