Astrology predictions about me were always wrong, says Karnataka CM
Bengaluru, Dec 29: The Karnataka Government is working on introducing the Anti-Superstition Bill and also impose a ban on all astrology based programmes on television channels.
The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah even has his own example to quote while justifying his decision to ban astrology programmes on television channels.
He took the example of his own case while stating that the astrologers always get it wrong. They said that I would have a short stint as Chief Minister when I took over, but they were wrong he said.
Modalities being worked out:
The law department is working out the modalities on introducing the anti-superstition bill. The law department wants to ensure that the bill does not turn into a controversial one.
Siddaramaiah himself maintains the idea of the bill is to check superstitious practises. It is about superstition and not religion, the Chief Minister said.
He also quoted another incident in which a woman committed suicide on Vaikunta Ekadashi. It was said that the woman committed suicide as she was led to beleive that those who die on this day go to heaven.
The CM said that such practises need to stop and hence the bill is the need of the hour.
