Assembly elections: EVM glitches delay polls in parts of Punjab
EVM errors were also reported from Amritsar and Jalandhar.

People were seen waiting outside the polling booth in a long queue as the Election Commission officials grappled to fix the error.
Even in Amritsar, the voting was delayed by 40 minutes due to glitches in the EVM. The polling was also delayed at booth number 66 in Jalandhar due to errors in EVM.
Till 9 :30 am Punjab recorded an overall polling percentage of 8 per cent.
In Punjab, 1,145 candidates are in fray to for the 117-member assembly. Punjab, where the main contest is between the BJP-SAD alliance, the Congress and the AAP, has around 1.98 crore eligible voters. More than 22,500 polling stations have been set up, with over one lakh security personnel deployed for smooth conduct of elections.
