The devastating floods in Assam have not only thrown life of the humans out of gear but also affected animals of Kaziranga and aquatic animals of the Brahmaputra.

Last month, it was widely reported how animals in Kaziranga were seen scurrying for higher land after their habitats were flooded. Now, the marine life from the Brahmaputra river made their way into the city and village streets, due to the turbulent tides.

A local journalist from Assam, Nandan Pratim, posted a video on his Twitter handle which shows a massive fish on a highway at Kaliabor, Assam. People then noticed the fish on the highway and went to rescue it, but such was the size that it took three people to lift it.

This year, Assam has faced one of its worst floods in decades. After a few days of some relief--from late July to early August--relentless rainfall has once again caused floods in at least 19 districts of the state. As per reports, death toll in Assam floods has touched 99 on Sunday.

While 84 people died due to floods between June and July, fresh floods in the state in the last few days have killed at least 15 people.

The Narendra Modi government has assured all support to the state in overcoming the havoc caused by the floods.

On Sunday, the CM visited flood-affected areas of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts, two of the worst-affected districts in the state. While interacting with the flood-affected people, the CM assured them to provide necessary help.
