Assam: DSP held in cash-for-job scam; 64 arrests till date
Dispur, July 23: The Dibrugarh Police has arrested DSP Kavita Das from Duliajan. She is an accused in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) job-for-cash scam.
Surajeet Singh Panesar, Superintendent of Police, Dibrugarh Police told ANI,''So far 63 officers have been arrested in the case."
Police had identified 25 officers of the 2015 batch who had bribed APSC officials to get jobs through doctored answer scripts. Out of those 25 officials, 13 were in Assam Civil Services, seven in Assam Police Services and the rest are in allied civil services.
Police had last week arrested BJP MP RP Sharma's daughter Pallavi, and 18 other government officers in connection with the scam. A charge sheet had been filed against former Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) chairman Rakesh Kumar Paul among others in connection with the case.
