Asked to vacate bungalow, Mayawati converts it into Kanshiram memorial

Asked to vacate her bungalow, Mayawati has gone ahead and converted into a Kanshiram Yadgar Vishram Shthal. Her move comes in the backdrop of the Supreme Court directing former chief ministers to vacate their government accomodation.

On the other hand Akhilesh Yadav has written to UP chief minister, Yogi Adityanath seeking permission to stay in the official bungalow for another two years.

While Mayawati was set to vacate her bungalow situated on 13A Mall Avenue and getting ready to move to a new address, a board had come up at the government accommodation with a board that read, "Kanshiram Yadgar Vishram Shthal."

A news18 report while quoting sources said that this could be an effort on her part to retain the bungalow. The report also says that the PWD could convert the property into its department camp office.

Meanwhile there is a revamp on at 9 Mall Avenue where Mayawati is set to move in. Akhilesh Yadav, on the other hand, wrote to the UP government asking for permission to stay in the official bungalow at 4, Vikramaditya Marg for another two years. Akhilesh, in his letter to the government, said he "does not have any suitable residential premises at Lucknow to stay in with his security detail being an ex-cm of UP". Akhilesh said since he is also provided with a Z-plus security cover he would need "sufficient space".
