As Chhota Rajan gets set to return, D Syndicate plots a symbolic gang war
Bengaluru, Nov 3: Ahead of Chhota Rajan's return to India which is likely to take place tonight, there is tight security in Mumbai where an intelligence bureau alert states that a gang war may trigger off.
The alert states that the Dawood Ibrahim gang may look to carry out an attack on a Rajan syndicate member. It could be vice versa too, the IB alert states.
Both Rajan and Dawood will look to outdo each other and the chances of a gang war triggering off has not been ruled out.
The alert states that gang members of either sides will look to strike at each other in what could be called a symbolic attack in underworld circles.
Mumbai police officials say that security is in place and there is no cause for concern. We have made all arrangements to provide the best of security. There have been reports that Rajan would be unsafe in Mumbai, but there is no cause for concern on that front an officer in charge of the security informed.
Rajan who will be deported tonight is most likely to be taken to Delhi and then to Mumbai later.
However, it is still unclear and officials are not revealing much in the wake of security threats. If he is taken to Delhi he would be de-briefed before proceeding to Mumbai.
Name the officer:
Earlier during the day, Rajan had told the media in Bali that there are some vested interests in the Mumbai police who are working for the Dawood gang.
The Mumbai police would question Rajan and ask him to reveal those names. If he does tell us the names, we will probe into the matter and necessary action will be taken the official also added.
However, the priority would be to probe the 68 cases against Rajan which include charges under MCOCA, the official added.
Rajan's arrest is a major development and we will conduct the cases against him in all fairness the officer also added.
