Army convoy attacked in Pampore, 3 jawans martyred

Three soldiers of the Indian Army were killed when militants opened fire on a convoy along Pampore highway in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Search operations are underway to hunt down the militants. Sources said that it looks like a signature Lashkar-e-Tayiba attack. Last week, intelligence input was recieved about terrorists preparing for a highway attack such as this, the source added.

An encounter between militants and security forces had taken place in October in Pampore earlier this year. The operation lasted for three days. Two militants were killed in this operation. Incidents of attack on the Indian Army have been on the rise since the September 29 surgical strike.
