Applications open for Chevening Fellowships and Scholarships

New Delhi, Aug 21: Chevening Scholarships are for ambitious future leaders who believe they can fly. Chevening is the UK Government's international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders. Funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations, Chevening offers two types of award - Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships - the recipients of which are personally selected by British embassies and high commissions throughout the world.

India runs the largest Chevening programme in the world with up to 120 scholars/fellows studying in the UK each year.

Applications for Chevening Scholarships and some Fellowships are open on 6 August 2018 for opportunities to study in the UK in 2019/2020.

1. The Chevening Cyber Security Fellowship

This fellowship aimed at mid-career professionals with demonstrable leadership potential in the field of cybersecurity or cyber policy in India. Applications open from 6 August till 10 October 2018.

2. Chevening Science and Innovation Leadership Fellowship (CRISP)

The Chevening Research Science and Innovation Leadership Fellowship (CRISP) is aimed at mid-career professionals with very high potential in the fields of science, innovation, and business from India and Sri Lanka. Programme will begin in April 2019.

3. Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship

The Chevening South Asia Journalism Programme Fellowship is aimed at mid-career journalists from South Asian countries including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bangladesh. The programme is funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and offers an opportunity to explore the range of approaches taken by the UK and the South Asian region, and then use that knowledge to direct discussions that tackle the big issues challenging the field. Applications open from 6 August till 10 October 2018 and programme will begin in March 2019.

4. Chevening Financial Services Fellowship

The Chevening Financial Services Fellowship will commence its third successive fellowship in May 2019 for mid-career Indians in the finance sector. Ideal applicants may come from government or the private sector, are mid-career professionals displaying leadership potential and have demonstrable experience in a relevant financial services discipline(s). Applications open from 6 August till 10 October 2018. Programme will begin in May 2019.
