Amid row, singer Papon quits as judge in reality show
He announced to quit the reality show after Maharashtra government on Saturday took cognizance of the incident allegedly 'inappropriately kissing a minor girl'.

Assamese singer Papon on Saturday decided to step down as a judge on the reality show in the wake of controversy around kissing a minor girl. Papon said he has been falsely implicated in the case.
In a statement, Papon said, 'I have decided to step down as a judge on the show till the matter in which I have been falsely implicated is fully resolved and the investigation is over'.

He announced to quit the reality show after Maharashtra government on Saturday took cognizance of the incident allegedly 'inappropriately kissing a minor girl'. Also, Minister of State for Women and Child welfare Vidya Thakur directed Mumbai Commissioner of Police to investigate the incident.
Papon is currently one of the judges on 'Voice India Kids' along with singers Shaan and Himmesh Reshammiya. On Tuesday, he went live on his Facebook page. After a rendition of Holi staple Rang Barse, he approaches the girl, smears colour on her face and kisses her.
A complaint has been filed with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights and it states that singer has committed "sexual assault on the minor girl".
Reacting to the complaint, the father of the minor girl denied all the allegations against Papon.
