Alleged al-Qaeda operative arrested in Haryana
New Delhi, Jan 18: A man alleged to be part of the al-Qaeda has been arrested from Mewat in Haryana.
The arrest of Abdul Sami was made by the special cell of the Delhi police which is probing into the Indian modules of the al-Qaeda. Sami has been remanded in police custody till February 1.
The arrest was made following an ongoing investigation by the Delhi police. The police had earlier made arrests in Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Bengaluru in connection with the same case.
The Delhi police say that the al-Qaeda was trying to set up operations in India through these persons.
Further investigations are on a Delhi police official informed while adding that they are in the process of busting more modules across the country.
