Alert now, Rahul Gandhi visits Dalit victims in Una
Ahemdabad, July 21: Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday visited Dalit victims of the Una atrocity in Gujarat and promised to help secure justice for the victims.
Gujarat has been witnessing protests after Dalit youths were flogged publicly by activists of the Gau Rakshak Dal people for skinning a dead cow.
Many youths have attempted suicide over the act of violence against Dalits. Balu, the father of a Dalit youth who was beaten up, showed his wounds to Gandhi at the Mota Samadhiyala village.

"I told Rahul ji everything, how we were all beaten up", one victim said, adding, "Why should we leave this village? People who hurt us should leave."
Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel had visited the victims on Wednesday, while Nationalist Congress Party leader Praful Patel visited them hours before Rahul Gandhi and declared Rs. 2 lakh aid for them.
