Aftershock of 3.6 magnitude in Uttarakhand
No major damage to property or loss of life was reported from the earthquake.
Dehradun, Feb 7: At around 2 pm on Tuesday afternoon an earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. No major damage to property or loss of life was reported from the earthquake that jolted Uttarakhand, state officials said.
Following the earthquake, people ran out of their houses to safety. Minor cracks in walls and ceilings of houses were reported. The NDRF teams had also been alerted.
A 5.8 magnitude earthquake had shaken the state at 10:33 pm Monday night. The earthquake was also centred in the Rudraprayag district.
Vikram Singh, director of the regional Met Office, informed that earthquake that shook the state on Monday night was centred 33 km below the earth.
