Over the last few years, the functioning of the Indian railways have changed, and how! It has become much passenger friendly, than it used to be, and some credit must go the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and his team.

There have been many cases when passengers in need have tweeted to the railways, and surprisingly, the railways have been swift to respond.

On March 11, a passenger tweeted that a couple, who was travelling with their 5-month-old baby on the Hapa-Tirunelveli Express, had run out of milk. Apparently, the couple had bought milk from the previous station, but it had curdled. The pantry car had also run out of milk, so the hungry toddler had started crying.

A co-passenger started tweeting about this to her friend, and one of the friends, in turn, tweeted to the Konkan Railways, informing them of the situation.

To which, the Konkan Railways responded:

Tweet 1

And they got a quick response:

Tweet 2

And voila!

Tweet 3

And finally...

And a few hours later, the passenger tweeted a picture of the now happy baby, and expressed her gratitude.

And this is not the first time the railways have come to the rescue of a passenger like this. Last year, the railway minister had sent a doctor and milk to the couple who was traveling in Marudhar Express from Varanasi to Gotan, near Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
