After governors, Modi govt to replace Indian high commissioners and ambassadors
Among the list of various high-level overseas officials to be replaced, first name is Ranjan Mathai, the India's High Commissioner to the UK.
Former Indian Navy admiral and the present High Commissioner to Canada, Nirmal Kumar Verma and the former Chief of the Air Staff and present India's Ambassador to Norway, Norman Anil Kumar Browne also features in the list of officials to be removed by the Modi government.
According to the sources in Delhi's South Block, senior journalist and renowned writer Swapan Dasgupta may be appointed as the next Indian High Commissioner to Britain.
Dasgupta, is known to be close to Modi and in the past, he has written articles in the favour of Modi and NDA.
Another name that is doing the rounds is of Brahma Chellaney, a leading strategic thinker and an analyst of international geo-strategic trends.
His name is being considered for the post of high commissioner, but the country to which he will be appointed, is yet to be finalised.
