After Dera chief's MSG; another Sikh Baba to feature in “The Blood Street” film
Amritsar, April 21: Two months after the Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insaan made his acting debut in the controversial film "Messenger of God" (MSG), another sikh preacher is all set to star in a movie called "The Blood Street".
The film that features Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal, in a 15-minute role, is slated to release on Friday, May 1. [Haryana put on alert as Dera's 'MSG' hits screen]
Daduwal told TOI that his film is about Sikh and Hindu communities in Punjab and is based on the aftermath of Operation Bluestar and 1984 Sikh massacre.
In the film, Daduwal will be seen spreading teachings of Sikh gurus through 'kirtan darbar'.
While saying that his film represents the true picture of Punjab, Daduwal said those "pained to see the state bleeding both at the hands of government and militants alike'' have made the film.
Daduwal opposed release of MSG
A day before MSG's release, Daduwal had announced a protest march in Sirsa against MSG's release in January this year. He also urged Punjab government to not allow the film's release. [Sikh organisations hold protests against controversial film MSG]
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member Harpal Singh Pali, Haryana SAD spokesman Sant Singh Kandahari and INLD leader Inderjit Singh were among those who had led the protest in Ambala, Haryana against MSG's release.
