After being stalked, girl from UP murdered by village head's son
A girl was murdered allegedly in a village in eastern Uttar Pradesh's Bansdih town near Varanasi on Tuesday morning by four masked men who had been stalking her for several months.
The incident happened when the girl was cycling to school and four men allegedly pursued her on two motorbikes. When they caught up with her, they allegedly pushed her to the ground, slit her throat with a knife. By the time, residents could come to her rescue, the accused fled from the spot. However, the girl was immediately rushed to a hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
The police said that two were arrested including the son of the village head and three are still absconding.
The family also said that few days ago, they had approached village head and were assured that the harassment would stop.
