Actress molestation case: Kerala police mum on Suni's claims of 'madam' Kavya
Prime accused in the actress molestation case, Pulsar Suni, has claimed that Kavya Madhavan, actor and wife on jailed Dileep is the 'madam' that he often referred to. 24 hours after the claim, the police are yet to confirm the same. No official word on Kavya Madhavan's role in the case or the lack of it has come from the police.
Ever since Dileep's arrest, Pulsar Suni, the prime accused has time and again referred to one 'madam'. He dropped hints before the media every time he was brought to the court. On Wednesday, Suni for the first time revealed who he was referring to as 'Madam' and named Kavya Madhavan. "My madam is Kavya," he told journalists. He, however, added that while she financed him, she did not know of the ploy to abduct the young actress and assault her.
Kavya was questioned by investigating officers in connection with the case earlier. Her shop was also raided in search of a memory card that Sui is said to have handed over to her. The police were convinced for a long time that 'madam' was a figment of Suni's imagination that he used to derail the investigations.
Suni had earlier claimed that the money to carry out the attack on the actress in February came from Kavya. Kavya is said to have handed over Rs 25,000 to Suni on someone else's instructions. While Suni has now claimed that Kavya is the 'madam' the police are yet to verify his claims. Considering that Suni's claims were made out of court and do not feature in his official statements, the police are unwilling to add weight to his claims until evidence proves otherwise.
Despite the police remaining mum on Suni's claims, Kavya's name being dragged into the case had added embarrassment to the Malayalam film fraternity. While Kavya was questioned in connection with the case, her name has not featured officially so far.
