Act against protesting TDP MPs on Parliament premises, G V L Rao urges Sumitra Mahajan
New Delhi, Aug 3: Amidst the ongoing protest by the Telugu Desam Party MPs in the Parliamentary complex, BJP MP, G V L Narasimha Rao has written to the Speaker seeking action.
As a member the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Security in the Parliament House complex, Rao says in his letter that he has received complaints from the general public, media and MPs who find this behaviour unruly.
He said that they were given a chance and a No Confidence Motion had been admitted which was moved by the TDP. There was a discussion for an entire day. In view of this, the continued dharnas on the Parliament premises by TDP MPs show their scan regard, Rao further added.
Rao says as per the law of the Rajya Sabha, members of the RS cannot use Parliament premises for demonstrations or dharnas. He also pointed out that one TDP MP was appearing in various costumes to attract the attention of the media and visitors. They are trying to make Parliament a place for exhibiting their entertainment talent, he also said.
He further urged the Speaker to act on the issue and also refer the matter to the Joint Committee on Security to deliberate on the subject. Rao later told OneIndia that he had submitted the complaint to the Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan and she too the same very seriously.
