Bomb and a letter avenging Abu Dujana's death found on Akhal-Takht Express at Amethi
A plot to blow up the Akhal-Takht Express in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh was foiled by the police. A suspicious object was reported on the train late last night following which passengers from two compartments had to be evacuated.
The police and the Bomb Disposal Squad have now declared the compartments as safe. The police said that a low intensity device had been found and same has been deactivated. The train has also left for its destination, the police also said.
The police also found a letter in the train in which it was stated that the death of Abu Dujana will be avenged.
Abu Dujana the Lashkar-e-Tayiba commander was killed in an encounter at Kashmir two weeks back. The letter found on the train speaks about his sacrifice and how his death will be avenged.
The incident comes in the backdrop of the National Investigation Agency probing several cases relating to sabotage on trains. Only recently did the NIA file a chargesheet in a Bihar case in which it was found that ISI agents had tried to blow up the track. The NIA is also looking into two other cases reported from Uttar Pradesh and Kuneru in Andhra Pradesh. It is suspected that train accidents had taken place due to sabotage.
