ABP survey predicts BJP loss in MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh
New Delhi, Aug 14: A survey conducted by ABP News and C-Voter has predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party would lose all three of the upcoming Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan - scheduled for later this year.
The survey stated that the Congress would gain a clear majority in all the three states in the elections, by winning 117 out of 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 54 out of 90 in Chhattisgarh and 130 out of 200 in Rajasthan.
The BJP, on the other hand, would manage only 106, 33 and 57 seats in the three states respectively, the opinion poll predicted.
Madhya Pradesh
The Congress is projected to get 117 seats, just above the majority mark, while the BJP is projected to bag 106 seats.
In terms of vote share, the Congress is projected to be slightly ahead with a 41.7 percent vote share in the upcoming 2018 elections, followed by 40.1 percent share for the BJP.
In Lok Sabha election, the survey gave BJP 46 per cent votes and Congress 39 per cent votes.
In terms of PM faces, 54 per cent of people polled in the state backed PM Modi for a second term while 25 per cent would like to see Rahul Gandhi in the top post.
Chhattisgarh
In the 90-member Chhattisgarh Assembly, the Congress is projected to bag 54 seats in the upcoming elections, followed by 33 going to the BJP.
In terms of vote share, the Congress is projected to get 40 percent vote share in the upcoming elections, with the BJP falling 1.2 percentage points behind at 38.8 percent.
Rajasthan
In Rajasthan, the Congress has been projected to get a whopping 130 seats, while the BJP is getting 57 seats. This is a complete reversal from 2013 when BJP had got 163 seats.
In terms of the vote share, the Congress is projected to get 50.8 percent, followed by the BJP with 36.8 percent in the upcoming elections.
In the Lok Sabha election, it is the BJP that is projected to bag 47 per cent votes while Congress is second with 43 per cent votes.
PM Modi is far ahead in popularity as 55 per cent people would like to see him get a second term as against 22 per cent who said they would back Rahul Gandhi.
The channel has said that 27, 968 samples were considered for the poll in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. The survey was conducted on all the 65 Lok Sabha seats of the three poll bound states.
All three states are currently ruled by the BJP - Rajasthan under Vasundhara Raje, Madhya Pradesh under Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Chhattisgarh under Raman Singh.
