Abduction of Malayalam actress: Police probe members of film industry

The probe into the abduction and molestation of an actress from the Malayalam film industry is focusing on several aspects which includes a rivalry angle. Investigations have revealed that the prime accused, Sunil Kumar had contacted some members in the film industry after the incident. On Saturday, the actress had complained to the police that she had been abducted and molested.
During the probe, Martin Antony, who was driving the actress from Thrissur to Kochi told the police that they planned on blackmailing her. He said that they had visuals of the incident and threatened the actress of making the same public if she did not cough up Rs 30 lakh.
Police officials do not rule out a racket being run by Kumar. There have been complaints in the past about him. A producer had complained that his wife too was subject to a similar incident involving Kumar five years ago.
