AAP govt threatening bureaucrats like dictator: BJP
New Delhi, Apr 20: Delhi BJP today accused the AAP government of "threatening" bureaucrats like a "dictator" and sought Lt Governor Najeeb Jung's intervention to ensure that the officers discharge their duties "fearlessly".
They are now "threatening" bureaucrats, earlier they did the same with the media.
"Who works like this...By threatening as a dictator," Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said.
Also, the AAP government did not follow constitutional norms in appointing JK Sharma as the Director General of Tihar Jail, he alleged.
BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's "threat" to civil servants was in "total violation" of the Constitution and Civil Service Regulations.
The LG should immediately intervene to ensure that all IAS officers posted with the Delhi government discharge their duties and responsibilities "fearlessly", he said.
Addressing bureaucrats on Civil Services Day, Kejriwal had yesterday asked bureaucrats working with his government not to "play politics" with elected representatives, saying it hampers the government's functioning and "downgrades" its credibility.
