AAP completes 3 years, Kejriwal promises best healthcare and education in India

The Aad Aadmi Party came to power on February 14, 2015 with a massive electoral victory winning 67 out of 70 seats and completed three years in 2018. The Ministers of the party, including Party Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia addressed the public and took their questions live to mark the completion of three years.

Kejriwal and Sisodia pointed out the achievements of the Government over the three years along with future goals and obstacles they had to face over the years. Sisodia said, "When the Government is honest, everything is possible,"

At the start, Kejriwal said, "The people of Delhi voted for their next-door neighbours who had no political background and created a tremor in our politics. Every minister in the Delhi Government is a servant to the public hence they must answer every question the public asks,"

Reading out the achievements of the AAP Government, Kejriwal said, "Healthcare and education are the two areas which have seen massive investment. No state has ever before invested at such a large scale in these two sectors,"

Talking about health care, The Delhi CM said that the goal of the Delhi Government is to develop a three-tier healthcare comprising mohlla clinics, polyclinics and multi-specialty or super-speciality clinics. He said that 164 mohalla clinics are already running in Delhi and land selection has been done for 786 more such clinics. He said there will be one mohalla clinic within every 1 km, and treatment will be provided for free in these clinics, however, no admission will be available in these clinics.

For a more serious disease, there will be facilities available at polyclinics. He said Delhi already has 26 polyclinics and land has been selected for 94 more.

The next level will be multi-specialty or super-specialty hospitals for even more critical diseases. he said, "The Government is responsible for the health and education of every child born in Delhi, hence the Government will keep focussing on these sectors,"

Talking about road accidents, he said, "No one has to worry about a police case or medical expenses of an accident victim if he or she helps the victim. The victim should be taken to the best hospital available and the expenses will be borne by the Government,"

In the field of education, he said that over 7000 new classrooms have been built by the AAP Government in three years, compared to the 800 by the previous government in 15 years. He said that the Government has also made 20 new schools and 26 new schools are in the stage of completion.

For higher education, State Education Minister and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that new campuses will be built under existing Universities. He said that 14 new colleges have been opened.

Sisodia claimed that Delhi is now being used as an example by other states in the field of education. He said that including measures such as mega-parent-teacher meeting enhanced the quality of education in the National Capital.

He also announced that a new scheme that would also help the ones from the backward, underprivileged classes for pursuing higher education.

Apart from Health and education, the ministers also spoke about the increasing level of pollution and women safety. Kejriwal said that measure like landscaping to be adopted to curb pollution. He also said that a detailed study will be conducted around the year to know the source of the pollution.

Regarding women safety, the Government said that the Government will do everything possible by it to protect women.
