On Monday the Supreme Court granted time to the Centre to file its reply to a petition that challenged linking of Aadhaar with mobile. Notices were also issued to the telecom companies.
In another development, the SC pulled up the West Bengal government for challenging the Aadhaar Act. The court asked how could a state challenge an act that was passed by Parliament. It said that West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee could file the petition in her individual capacity. The court however permitted her to amend the petition and re-file it.
