A septuagenarian couple exchange wedding vows in Chhattisgarh
The village Panchayat and entire village agreed to their marriage. Both the families the couple played role in helping them exchange wedding vows on August 16.
As the adage goes, genuine romance happens when it's minimum expected - a septuagenarian couple in Chhattisgarh's Bagdol village exchanged wedding vows.
Ratiya Ram (75), who belong to the Korwah tribe, married Jimnabari Bai (70) who was living a lonely life, reports ANI.
He did not think over how the villagers and his family would react when he asked Jimnabari Bai to move into his house even before their marriage was solemnised. They met each other, just a fortnight ago at a social event and decided to live together.
In fact, the village Panchayat and entire village agreed to their marriage. Both the families the couple played role in helping them exchange wedding vows on August 16.
Still, the septuagenarian could not beat the record of world's oldest newlyweds. The record is in the name of Bernard (93) who tied the knot with Margaret (95) on July 26, 2017.
Margaret and Bernard knew each other when they were more youthful, yet reunited six years back at the burial service for Bernard's late-spouse.
According to Margaret's youngest son aged 52, Ben opened up about his undying love for his mum during a funeral service, acknowledging that the revelations boggled him, reports Tuko news.
