Shaking his hand and not to forget the selfies with Modi was what dominated the dinner session that took place after Modi addressed the workers.

The meeting that is the first to be held after the BJP came to power at the Centre has a host of issues to discuss.

The Land Bill, the increase in membership, Modi's foreign policy are among the various points that will get some serious consideration during the course of the event.

Happy to see Modi

Several workers who were part of the session last night say that they were happy to see Modi. Many had in fact seen him as such close quarters for the first time.

Many went up to him to shake hands and others took 'selfies' with the Prime Minister.

The workers said that they were extremely overjoyed when he obliged and there were no airs around him.

Modi took time off to shake hands and also pose for 'selfies' with the workers.

He also had a word of advise for many of them and told them to work harder and take the party to dizzying heights.

Major task ahead for workers

During the brief address to the party workers, Modi was extremely particular about the membership drive.

The BJP has got 10 crore members today and while congratulating them, he also urged them to convert these members to karyakartas or workers.

He also said that the workers should rope in at least 10,000 members for the Swach Bharath Campaign and this number should increase in the months to come.

Further Modi said that there were other campaigns such as the Beti Bachao Andolan which need to be popularized in the remotest parts of the country by the workers.

Workers wanted a session on politics

Several workers say that the leadership should have had an exclusive session on how to become better politicians. It is rare to get both Modi and Amit Shah together and the leadership should have planned a session with the two of them addressing the young workers.

Many workers credit Modi and Shah for the resounding victory of the party in the general elections.

They feel that there should have been a session on this as this would have helped the younger workers.

Moreover with the party deciding to go all guns blazing in the Southern states, such a session would have helped.
