8 killed in Pak firing- Highest casualty on single day in 2 decades

Srinagar, Nov 1: Eight persons were killed in a single day as Pakistan soldiers fired at villages and posts along the Line of Control and the International Border.

and
Abhi
were
killed.
In another incident a 19 year old girl, Ravinder Kaur was killed in Ramgarh, Jammu. Ravinder was killed when a mortar landed in her kitchen earlier today.
Two more persons died in the Ramgarh sector. One person died due to shock during the shelling taking the toll up to six.

Along the Line of Control, two women were killed in firing and shelling by Pakistani troops. This incident occurred at the Panjgrian border hamlet in Majalkore belt of Rajouri district.
Meanwhile, the Indian forces responded strongly through the day. Two Pakistani soldiers were killed opposite to Naushera sector along the Line of Control. On the Indian side several injuries too have been reported.
Three army porters were injured in shelling in the Noushera sector. In Poonch district Pakistani shells injured three persons.
Since the September 29 surgical strikes, at least 18 persons including 12 civilians have been killed and more than 80 have been injured in shelling by Pakistan along the International Border and Line of Control.
Army officials say that the cease fire violations are likely to continue for a few days more. However it is expected to reduce later, officials also state.
Officials also say that most incidents of violations are aimed at providing cover fire for terrorists to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan will look to plant as many terrorists as possible in the Valley before the winter sets in completely.
