Warangal prison will now host a university
Warangal, July 21: The MGM hospital in Warangal is likely to be developed into a world-class teaching hospital, as a part of the Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University, as per health minister C. Laxma Reddy.
He also revealed possibilities of building two towers for superspeciality sections as extensions to the MGM hospital.
It is said that the central prison of Warangal will be shifted to the outskirts of Mamnoor., giving way for the health university. Out of the 70 acres, 35 acres would be allotted to the college building and the remaining would be used for the teaching hospital.
Speaking in a review meeting held with university vice-chancellor, Reddy also proposed to integrate the existing area hospitals, sub centers and PHCs to leverage the budget. He further said that they would be brought under one teaching hospital for better coordination.
