Who is Senator Ted Cruz, the US Presidential Republican candidate for 2016 polls?

As the US Presidential polls will take place in 2016, Texas senator 44-year-old Ted Cruz became the first candidate to officially confirm his bid for the top race on Monday, March 23, on the micro blogging site Twitter.

"I'm running for President and I hope to earn your support!", Cruz said on his official Twitter page.

In a 30-second video message, Cruz said, "I believe in America and her people, and I believe we can stand up and restore our promise."

"It's going to take a new generation of courageous conservatives to help make America great again," the outspoken Cruz said, adding that he was ready "to lead the fight."
