This brings tears to my eyes: Man, dying of cancer, sings “The Dance” with his crying loved ones
He has been a firefighter for over three decades, risking his lives on several occasions to save people and property from dangerous blazes. And the fighter in Marc Wright didn't give it up easily even against cancer which slowly engulfed his liver and lungs. The man passed away in January with his loved ones surrounding him but he did not go without doing what he loved to do: sing.
On his deathbed, Wright had one more wish and that was to sing Garth Brook's 1990 classis "The Dance" which he did on his bed in the hospital, accompanied by a guitarist and his teary-eyed family members and friends.
Brooks later came to know about the dying man's singing his popular number and said some great words about Wright and his singing skills.
Wright retired in February last year but could not avoid the health hazard that most firefighters suffer from: cancer of the respiratory system and that in the inner organs like intestine and kidneys.
