IAS officer Ashok Khemka
Ashok Khemka, a senior IAS officer in Haryana Government has been transferred to the Centre on deputation basis.

Khemka better known as whistle-blower administrator shot to limelight for blowing lid off the number of scams in Haryana Government, notable among them, the dubious land deals between Gandhi dynasty son-in-law Robert Vadra and realty giant DLF.

His deputation for which he applied in 2010, has been approved by the civil services board on Tuesday. His transfers comes despite the fact that he has two chargesheets filed against him.

45 transfers in 21-year-long career

During his 21-year-long career, 49-year-old Khemka has been transferred nearly 45 times. This is because he exposed corruption in the departments he was posted in.

Khemka was posted as Secretary to the Government of Haryana, Department of Archives and Archaeology in April, 2013. This after he, as Managing Director in Haryana Seeds Development Corporation (HSDC) exposed some irregularities in department and requested a CBI inquiry.

In 2012, Khemka was earlier shifted to Haryana Seed Development Corporation (HSDC) in October from the Director General Consolidation of Land Holdings and Land Records-cum-Inspector General of Registration after he initiated a probe into the land dealings between Robert and realty giant DLF.

Constantly hounded by Congress-led Government in Haryana

In 2013, the Haryana Government had chargesheeted Khemka for wrongly cancelling mutation of a land deal between Robert Vadra and DLF. He was also charged with administrative misconduct and exceeding jurisdiction while cancelling the mutation of the Rs 58 crore land deal in October 2012.

Khemka applied for his transfer in 2010.

The State Government had earlier alleged that cancelling the mutation was administratively wrong step by Khemka as he was transferred HSDC on October 11, 2012 from his earlier post of Director General Consolidation of Land Holdings.

Beside this, the 1991-batch IAS officer has also been chargesheeted for going against service rules by going to the media openly and criticising State Government policies.

In January 2014, the Haryana Government also ordered a CBI probe into a Rs 8 crore contract that Khemka had awarded to a Gujarat firm during his stint as the managing director of the State Warehouse Corporation in 2009.

Khemka for quite long time has been maintaining that he was constantly hounded by Congress-led Government in Haryana at the behest of the first family. Many times, he lodged protest for being publicly humilated for not toeing to the lines of the political masters. In 2010, he even applied for transfer on deputation at the Centre which has now get a green-signal.
