Karnataka: Malavalli Vidhansabha Constituency
Malavalli is a town in Mandya district. It is the headquarters of Malavalli taluk. Malavalli assembly constituency is a reserved constituency for Schedule Castes.
There are several famous temples in Malavalli including Somanathapura Hoysala temple, Marehalli sri lakshminarashima swami temple, Udbhava Murthy Sri Chenna Someshwara temple, Sri matthitaleswara temple and Sri Adinadu Chikkamma Thayi Temple.
Muthathi forest and Bheemeshwari Cauveri fishing camp near Halagur town are also places of interest here.
Shivanasamudra near Malavalli is also visited by the tourists. Shivanasamudra has two waterfalls - Gaganachukki and Bharachukki. Shivanasamudra is about 115 km from Bangalore and 65 km from Mysore and is easily accessible from both the cities.
P.M. Narendra Swamy of Congress is the current MLA and he defeated Dr. K Annadani of JDS by 538 votes.
