It seems Delhi Daredevils have simply forgotten how to win matches. Despite making changes Daredevils lost two matches in Indian Premier League's (IPL) ongoing edition on the final delivery of the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Delhi Daredevils' rough patch continues

With these two defeats Delhi have now lost 12 successive matches on the trot. These are disappointing numbers for any side. If we look at the team's performance since last season then nothing seems to be working for them despite making serious amends in the side. The team had won just 2 games in last year's edition.

The Daredevils tried to start afresh in this year's edition of the cash rich league with a new captain as well as some new faces. Hoping for a serious makeover, the Delhi franchise shelled out a whopping Rs 16 crore to bring Yuvraj Singh under its banner.

Yuvraj owns the reputation of most dangerous batsman and a T20 specialist. The management also took a big step by giving team's reigns in the hands of South Africa's JP Duminy.

South Africa's Quinton de Kock, Imran Tahir and Albie Morkel were roped in to do a makeover. Australian pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile has also been inducted in the side to improve its pace battery.

Team India's ace pacer Mohammed Shami and Zaheer Khan are already there in the side while leg-spinner Amit Mishra has once again been welcomed by the franchise.

But nothing seems to be working for 'revamped' Delhi Daredevils. Yuvraj's bat is silent so far while Duminy too hasn't been able to lead the side from the front.

Surprisingly, pacers Mohammed Shami and Zaheer Khan haven't been picked into playing 11. While youngsters too have not been able to deliver as expected. This is the reason why DD's rough patch in the IPL continues. The team is still trying to sniff a victory which might boost its morale and help the side back on track.

Delhi taking lessons from KKR and MI?

The defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders and former champion Mumbai Indians too went through a bad phase in the previous editions before they turned the tides in their favour. Kolkata took Delhi opener Gautam Gambhir with it and entrusted him the responsibility to lead the side. Giving Gambhir team's reigns did wonders for KKR for the team won two consecutive IPL titles, under his leadership.

Same is the case with Mumbai. Despite having big names like Ricky Ponting, Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh and Kieron Pollard, the team management showed its faith in young Rohit Sharma. Rohit helped a rejuvenated Mumbai Indians win its maiden IPL title and went on winning Champions League T20 as well.

This time Delhi team management has handed over team's responsibility in the hands of a young JP Duminy, who has no experience in captaining a side, despite having the likes of Angelo Mathews and Yuvraj Singh. It seems Delhi Daredevils' team management has took some lesson from KKR and MI but the problem with this side so far has been that it has failed to perform as a 'team'.

Is something wrong with Delhi Daredevils' team management?

One gets an impression that constant changes in the side and its leadership hasn't sent the proper signal among players. Players like Dinesh Karthik, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, AB de Villiers and Morne Morkel are doing well after they were associated with other franchise.

This proves there is something wrong with the team management which has failed to motivate team members enough.

Therefore, coach Gary Kirsten faces a challenging task of bringing Delhi Daredevils from this state before its too late for the side.
