Bangalore, Nov 22: At least 35 people were killed in an oil explosion after the leaking oil pipeline caught fire in Qingdao, China. Reports suggest that the workers were trying to fix the broken pipeline, when the explosion took place. More than 100 fire fighters were trying to douse the fire.
Meanwhile, writer Salman Rushdie and filmmaker Mira Nair were honoured for their contribution and their commitment to the global artistic community. The Ind0-American Arts Council honoured them on Thursday.

A woman runs near a damaged street following a pipeline explosion in Qingdao in east China's Shandong province. The oil pipeline owned by China's largest oil refiner, Sinopec, ruptured and while being repaired caught fire and exploded, killing many people and injuring others.
