Both the election heat and the climate change are taking a toll on the lives of people. As tempers fly at the election booth, the sweltering heat adds on to the woes. The Kolkata flyover collapse, the JNU tension, the HCU crisis, all add up to the summer heat.

But not everything needs to be negative since every cloud has a silver lining. So, to pep up the here are a few best things that happened in India this year:

A farmer shares water from his borwell in parched Karnataka: Generosity knows no religion, people live with it. The Yadgir district of Karnataka is home to one such person who did not think twice to share his booty with others at the time of crisis. When the entire district was parched, he had a borewell in his farmland that always sufficed his personal and agricultural needs. However, instead of siphoning the water for himself, he has welcomed anyone and everyone to use the water from his borewell.

Women get access to temples: Times are changing and the mindset too. Take the row over women entering a shani temple in Maharashtra. Citing the right to pray and follow one's belief without any hinderance. A 350-dtrong women brigade-Bhumata Ranragini brigade-questioned their rights to enter the Shani Shingnapur temple in Ahmednagar. Breaking the 400-year old tradition of not letting women inside the inner sanctum, the women were allowed in and offered prayer to the deity.

19-year old Shreya Nayak from Mumbai teaches a molestor lesson...singlehandedly: Women are changing and so is their behaviour toward themselves. They are more confident and do not keep quiet when they are being maltreated. Shreya is a case in point as she single-handedly tackled a molestor when she was returning home from her internship at night. And guess who is proud of her? The bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar who runs a self-defence center from where Shreya learnt her martial arts skills.

A Himachali village girl scales the Highest mountain peak in Europe: A girl can reach any height if she has a supporting father. Such is the case of Akriti whose dream was to scale the highest of the high. At a tender age of 20 years, this small-town girl scaled Mount Elbrus and hoisting the mountain peak on July 24, 2014. With the help of her father, who took a loan to sponser her trip there, Akriti saw her dreams materialising. She was included in the Limca book of records and was honored by many organizations and the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Prem Kumar Dhumal.

Indian rocket to launch 22 satellites: It's official! India will be launching 22 rockets in a single mission and it would be done by an Indian rocket. Apart from the Indian remote sensing satellite, Cartosat 2C, which constitutes the primary payload, the rocket will carry on board four micro-satellites weighing 85 to 130 kg each and 17 nano-satellites weighing 4 to 30 kg.
