Debate: Is BJP taking a huge risk by relying on Yogi Adityanath's brand of Hindutva
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will address around 35 rallies in Karnataka from May 3. The BJP is banking on Adityanath to give the party's Hindutva pitch a push in the election campaign.
Adityanath has made two noisy visits to Karnataka, accusing the Congress government of being anti-Hindu and reminding people that the state was the abode of Lord Hanuman.
Karnataka's voters aren't ready and willing to fall for Adityanath's Hindutva claptrap. A little understanding of the history of elections in Karnataka would make it amply clear that Karnataka is not Gujarat. It's difficult to believe that BJP president Amit Shah, known as Chanakya of modern politics is unaware of this.
