Chamundeshwari or Badami: Does it reflect Siddaramaiah's insecurity?
Finally, CM Siddaramaiah has put an end to the speculation regarding his contest from the second constituency. He has filed nomination papers from Chamundeshwari and he will file nomination soon from Badami in Bagalkot district. Siddaramaiah has chosen Badami, where Kuruba (shepherd) is a dominant community. The sitting MLA BB Chimmanakatti belongs to this community.
Is it not strange that CM Siddaramaiah, who boasts that there is no anti-incumbency wave against his government and proud of pro-poor schemes, has chosen a constituency where his community is dominant? If he was so confident then why didn't he choose any other constituency in Old Mysore region?
