RSS expresses fear of Hindus becoming minority in India

By Oneindia Staff Writer

Hubli, Nov6: Loose cannons by the few BJP and RSS leaders has been denting the image of the Union Government since its inception. Adding yet another controversy to the bag of callous remarks, RSS Regional Executive of North Karnataka, Aravind Rao Deshpande claimed on Thursday growing population-imbalance in the nation has generated a fear of Hindus plunging into minority in India.

He made this statement in a press meet held at city's RSS office. He contended that population of Muslims is on the increasing graph in the states like Assam, West Bengal and Bihar.

"Infiltration from Bangladesh, of illegal migrants, though borders, a key reason for swelling of density of Muslims," he argued. He added population of the Christians in the state of Assam has also been shot up by 13% in 10 years alone.

The RSS leader stated there was imbalance in the population growth rate among various religions. "The population of followers of the religion (Hindu) that took birth in India has slumped to 83.8% from 88%.

But population of the Muslims saw an increase from 9.8% to 14.23%," he explained. He further observed if the trend goes the same way, the Hindus would plunge into minority.
