According to the survey released on Monday (May 2), MK Karunanidhi's party is posed to win 33 seats in the region as against the ruling party AIADMK's 24. This could mark a significance since the western parts are known to be the AIADMK's strongholds. [TN polls: Too many CM aspirants]

In fact, the survey indicated a multi-cornered contest between the DMK, AIADMK, the People's Welfare Front led by the DMDK, PMK and the BJP. The AIADMK, which had swept the 2011 election in the state, could even finish third in some constituencies.

The results of the survey released on Monday indicate that a multi-cornered contest has had among voters, with the DMDK-led third front, PMK and the BJP making a significant mark in several constituencies. The AIADMK is even likely to figure in the third place in a couple of constituencies.

PMK's chief ministerial candidate Anbumani Ramadoss was predicted to finish third in Pennagaram constituency even though he is considered favourite to win from this seat by a huge margin.
